AI Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

We need a full-stack engineer who ships. You will take enterprise engagements from architecture to production: the data model, the APIs, the front end, the cloud deployment, and the tests that prove it works. The client sees your work every week.

Claude Code is the primary way software gets written here. We want someone who has already built an enterprise-grade application with it, knows where it is strong, knows when to overrule it, and has the fundamentals to catch it when it is wrong.

What You'll Do

• Design and build production applications in Python and TypeScript on AWS and GCP
• Run Claude Code across the full lifecycle: planning, implementation, tests, review, and documentation
• Work directly with client engineering and product leads to turn requirements into shipped software
• Stand up CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and the security controls an enterprise expects
• Modernize legacy systems in place when a rewrite is the wrong call
• Write the acceptance tests that define when a deliverable is done

Requirements

• 7+ years building and operating production software
• Daily, hands-on use of Claude Code, and at least one enterprise-grade application built with it that you can walk us through
• Strong fundamentals: data modeling, API design, testing, performance, and security. AI tooling amplifies these. It does not replace them.
• Python and TypeScript, with production experience on AWS, GCP, or both
• Comfortable talking with a client's engineers and executives directly
• Amazon Bedrock or Vertex AI in production use
• Terraform or CDK, and ownership of a CI/CD pipeline end to end
• Legacy modernization: strangler-fig migrations, database moves, monolith decomposition
• Security-conscious background: OWASP, threat modeling, compliance-heavy environments
• Experience contracting through your own company
• Authorized to work in the United States. We do not sponsor visas now or in the future.

Engagement Terms

• Contract. Hourly or fixed fee per deliverable, set per engagement. We contract with individuals and with companies.
• $120 to $175 per hour, depending on experience and engagement structure
• Remote within the US. We are not currently engaging contractors who live in California, Massachusetts, or New Jersey.
• Start immediately. Initial engagement with the option to extend.
• Tooling, model usage, and the cloud environment are provided and paid for by us
• Offer contingent on a background check, at our expense
